Tropes

  • Adam Westing: Neil deGrasse Tyson plays himself as vindictive and intimidating, who menaces other scientists For the Evulz. The Stinger shows him going after Bill Nye the Science Guy.
  • Celebrity Paradox: Leonard mentions watching Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, which features Christine Baranski, who happens to play his mother.
  • Geeky Turn-On: Sheldon plans to create a semi-random sex schedule, which Amy correctly guesses is because totally random schedules are a running problem for computer programs. Sheldon tells her he'll need her to repeat that once they return to the hotel room, only without her clothes.
  • Get Out!: Penny tells Mr. Fowler to get out of Amy and Sheldon's apartment after Mrs. Fowler says she wants to spend more time with Penny during their visit.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Leonard is afraid that he and Penny will end up just like the Fowlers. Penny doesn't like the implication that she will be a domineering battle-axe like Mrs. Fowler.
  • Schedule Fanatic: Amy gets upset at Sheldon for his need to schedule every little thing, specifically having sex, which she feels needs to happen naturally and spontaneously. She softens when he tells her the reason for said-schedule is that he knows how important sex is to her and he feels that if he doesn't schedule it then he'll forget about it and disappoint her. She reaches a compromise with him; he can keep his schedule for sex, but just not tell her. They agree about it and reconcile.
  • Spot the Thread: When Penny finds him in his daughter's apartment, Mr. Fowler claims Amy asked him to water her plants. Penny points out that Amy doesn't own plants.
