Go To

"The Brain Bowl Incubation" is an episode of The Big Bang Theory that first aired on November 10, 2016. Directed by Mark Cendrowski. Teleplay by Steven Molaro, Maria Ferrari and Tara Hernandez, based on a story by Chuck Lorre, Steve Holland and Saladin K. Patterson.

Amy successfully converts skin cells from herself and Sheldon into brain cells. After asserting the converted cells are a superior creation to Bernadette and Howard's baby, Sheldon decides he wants to have sex with Amy and get her pregnant. Although she would normally like that, she's put off by his sudden strong interest in procreation.

Meanwhile, at a university lab, Raj meets Issabella (Maria Canals Barrera), a janitor he immediately feels attracted to, and convinces her to a kind of date in his lab. When telling his friends about her, he says she's an astronomer. But then Howard shows up at Raj's lab and lets it slip that Raj said she's an astronomer.

Issabella's angry that Raj is embarrassed of her profession and walks off. Raj begs her to go on a date with him and she reluctantly agrees. However, this is the only episode she appears in.

Tropes

  • Ethnic Menial Labor: Raj is attracted to a beautiful cleaning lady, and of course she has to be from Latin America, specifically, she's Cuban. Raj had assumed her to be Mexican.
  • On a Scale from One to Ten: As Amy is about to take a skin sample from Sheldon.
Sheldon: How much will it hurt?
Amy: It's just a tiny skin sample. You saw me do it to myself.
Sheldon: On a scale of one to ten, where one is a pebble in your shoe and ten is the monkey you thought was your pet biting your face off.
    Amy: A two.
    Sheldon: Eating a whole Altoid?
  • Out-of-Character Moment: Raj eating something green other than a Skittle is a tip-off for Leonard and Penny that Raj's seeing some woman.
  • Shout-Out: Sheldon's attempts to seduce Amy take cues from Legally Blonde and Casablanca.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: Raj tells his friends that he's seeing someone from work, not telling them she's a cleaning lady. They assume she's a scientist and Raj doesn't correct them.
  • Unequal Pairing: Raj, a successful astrophysicist, falls in love with Issabella, the night cleaning lady at the university.
