* StrawmanHasAPoint: While this whole episode happened because Gumball was looking for an excuse not to do his homework, he is right about Bobert's literal-mindedness being danger to everyone, especially since he nearly sawed off Darwin's arm because of it.
** Even his rant about homework being useless isn't far off from legitimate complaints people have with the concept of homework.

* FurryDenial: Bobert sets out to destroy "humanity", which is implicitly everyone, even though practically none of the residents shown in Elmore are human and few are the same species or even the same ''medium''.

* SuperficialSuggestionBox: Gumball wants to complain to Miss Simian about the concept of homework, so she suggests he put it in the suggestion box. There's a suggestion box next to the classroom door that drops Gumball's suggestion right into a paper shredder. Gumball follows up by saying he wants to file a complaint, to which Miss Simian says to go to the Complaint Box. Cue a shot of a mail box in the middle of a desert wasteland, with the bones of a student still gripping a letter sticking out of the mailbox lid.

* LawfulStupid: Bobert falls into this when Gumball and Darwin order him to uphold the law, choosing to uphold ''very'' [[LoonyLaws ridiculous laws]] by burning off Miss Simian's hair with a laser ("According to the law in New Mexico, females are forbidden to appear unshaven in public."), threatening an old man simply eating soup with an ArmCannon ("According to the law in New Jersey, it is illegal to slurp your soup."), continuing to do so when Gary screams in fear ("In North Carolina, it is illegal to sing off-key."), ripping off the orange security guard's beard ("In Massachusetts, goatees are illegal without a license."), and blowing up Billy's lollipop ("Lollipops are also banned.") When Gumball tries to stop him, Bobert tries to shoot him for "obstruction of justice," only to miss and blow up the roof, at which point Bobert starts shooting ''himself'' for destroying public property.

Darwin and Gumball give Bobert safety instructions, but his interpretations of them don't work out.

* ThreeLawsCompliant: Bobert already follows any order given to him and the plot of the episode is Gumball and Darwin avoiding their homework by figuring out orders that mitigate the danger of his literal mindedness. They eventually order him not to harm anyone or allow anyone to come to harm from anyone else.
