Gumball: You will slap my butt today, Tobias Wilson.
Tobias is using a slap to the rear as a congratulatory gesture to every other guy in school but Gumball. Feeling left out, Gumball tries to trick Tobias into doing the same for him.
Tropes:
- A Day in the Limelight: For Tobias.
- Bittersweet Ending: Tobias finally slaps Gumball's butt — but as he discovers, Gumball only wanted it to happen so he'd have an excuse to get mad along with everyone else who hates his slap.
- Camera Abuse: When Gumball fakes choking on his food to get a slap from Tobias, Hector slaps him instead, causing him to fly into the camera and shatter it.
- Didn't Think This Through: Gumball underestimates how bad Tobias is with the ladies. He doesn't realize that Tobias would make him wait two days before heading to the roof. Although to be fair to him, it's pretty stupid of Tobias as well to wait so long, especially if it was legitimately from a girl who wanted to meet at a specific time.
- Epic Fail: Tobias and Gumball use their disassembled body parts to form a message of "Need help!" to someone passing. The one extra part falls on top of the exclamation point to make the message "Need help?", so the passerby assumes he's being offered help, turns it down, and leaves.
- Face Palm: The episode ends with Tobias slapping himself for letting himself get caught up in Gumball's idiocy.
- Halfway Plot Switch: The plot goes from Gumball trying to trick Tobias to the two of them trying to survive on the school's roof until help arrives.
- Hypocritical Humor: Gumball calls Tobias's butt-slapping a poor attempt at being macho until Tobias skips him. Then he spends the whole episode to get a congratulatory slap to the rear—just so he can complain about it.
- Somebody Doesn't Love Raymond: Gumball tries to get a butt slap from Tobias because he hates the idea of being the only one Tobias didn't think was worth it. In truth, Gumball was the only one Tobias showed enough consideration toward to hold back on what he (accurately) suspected Gumball would hate.
