"Well, the first thing you should know is that everyone comes to a high school reunion for a reason. Maybe you want everyone to see what a success you've become. Maybe you wanna show off your hot spouse, or whatever. For me, this should have been a victory lap."
Chelsea

Danner interrogates Chelsea, who tells her version of events in the style of a Psychological Thriller. She reveals that she had resented her classmates, Xavier most of all, for the state of her life and attended the reunion to get revenge. Despite being harassed by threatening texts warning her not to come throughout the night, she fully intended to push through with her plan to drug Xavier with cat tranquilizers (the substance that had knocked out Aniq) and leak his nudes until a conversation with Yasper made her change her mind. She gets an apology out of Xavier instead and apologizes in turn to Zoë for her affair with Brett. She lets slip that the St. Patrick's Day party that ruined her life also ruined Aniq's, causing Danner to search for him, not realizing Aniq is eavesdropping in the bathroom.

Tropes:

  • Darker and Edgier: Chelsea's testimony, while still containing moments of humor, is tonally much darker and moodier than those that preceded it due to being done in the style of a Psychological Thriller.
  • Harassing Phone Call: In her story, Chelsea receives intimidating texts throughout the night, warning her to stay away from then leave the reunion. When she gets to the afterparty, the harasser sends her a picture of herself as an Implied Death Threat.
  • Lousy Lovers Are Losers: Brett is a no-name douche who thinks himself an action hero. To accompany this delusion, his ex-wife and mistress bond over the fact that he's terrible at sex.
  • N-Word Privileges: After Ned calls Chelsea a bitch, his catty wife and her equally catty best friend rebuke him for not having the rights to say the b-word.
  • Threat Backfire: A variation as Chelsea admits her plan was to drug Xavier, strip him naked and post the photos on the Internet. Xavier points out that wouldn't matter as he's leaked exactly those types of pictures himself.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: This episode reveals that the cartoonish pep talk Yasper had claimed to have given Chelsea in the previous episode was in fact genuine; he told her that only she could dictate the path of her life. This causes her to realize that she didn't actually need the revenge against Xavier that she was plotting.
