Grumpy is determined to earn a Dragon Scout badge and become Dragon Scout First Class, but he must complete a bunch of tasks including spending the night in the Enchanted Forest. The 7D try to help out but a rule-crazed forest ranger named Dirk Dumphrey interrupts their every action and hands them all sorts of citations and punishments.
The episode has the following tropes:
- The Cameo: Most of the villains the 7D have faced appear at the end of the episode.
- Dastardly Whiplash: The squirrel at the end of the episode sports the traditional mustache and cape of a villain.
- Get Out!: What the squirrel says to Dirk for failing his mission.
- Greater-Scope Villain: The evil squirrel that is leading the Legion of Doom seems to be a much bigger threat than the Glooms.
- Hate Sink: Dirk Dumphrey exists to be loathed by the audience for his actions throughout the episode, such as abusing his power as a forest ranger and constantly harassing the 7D over minor stuff.
- Legion of Doom: At the end of the episode, most of the 7D's enemies have grouped together and are led by a squirrel.
- The Reveal: Dirk Dumphrey isn't a forest ranger at all.
