Recap / The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Really Really Love You Ch 155

Go To

It's 5 am, and Kurumi is in line for the ultimate fluffy daifuku. There's always a long line for it, and in the past, it's led to fighting, so the store now has guards to enforce the line. Anyone in line isn't allowed to disrupt it for any reason besides using that bathroom, lest they be forced out of it.

Oh hey, Momiji's here too!

Momiji doesn't care much about eating it, but knows that she must get her hands on something as fluffy as it. To pass the time, Momiji suggests shiritori. Her words are related to various fluffy things, but Kurumi's are food related, making her angry when she inevitably ends up hungry. Fortunately, she brought some snacks to tide her over.

They play other games as the people around them engage in idle chatter. Soon, however, the women in front of them collapse from exhaustion and are forcibly removed from the line. As the day drags on, an elderly man collapses from thirst and is removed. Kurumi realizes that she's thirsty herself, but only brought food. Momiji did bring water and offers to share with her despite Kurumi's embarrassment. Another person in line ends up dropping out due to hunger. Kurumi is on her last snack, but hears Momiji's stomach grumbling. Momiji tells her not to mind her, but Kurumi insists on returning the favor from before and breaks her snack in half.

Time passes, and other people in line start to hallucinate and end up forced from the line. It begins to rain, much to everyone's relief... until it turns into a blinding downpour, leading to a lot of people disrupting the line because they can't see where to move. Momiji is frustrated, but Kurumi can still smell the daifuku and tells Kurumi to stick with her. Momiji, naturally, takes the chance to grope her.

The rain eventually stops, but Kurumi is exhausted, hungry, and thirsty. Her legs are about to give out when Momiji begins massaging them despite her own exhaustion. After all, she wouldn't have even made it that far if not for Kurumi. At the very least, she can make sure she makes it. Not wanting Momiji to end up out of line, Kurumi allows Momiji to grope her to recharge (but insists that Momiji not make weird noises as she does). Finally, they make it into the store.

Unfortunately, only a single daifuku remains. Both are adamant that the other should take it. When neither of them gives an inch, the head chef comes out, revealing his frustration by all the fighting he'd seen in the lines. He created the ultimate fluffy daifuku to make people happy, but it became the source of so much anguish.

Watching Kurumi and Momiji through the hidden cameras on the guards' sunglasses, however, he was deeply moved by their generosity and care for each other. As thanks, he brings out the Big Bang Ultimate Fluffy Daifuku - one so big it needs to be wheeled out on a cart. Both girls insist that the other take the first bite (driving the chef to tears once more) before ultimately choosing to dig in together.

Tropes:

  • Indirect Kiss: Though not referred to by name, Kurumi does mention that if Momiji shares her water bottle with her, she'd end up putting her mouth on it. Momiji is puzzled by this concern, but Kurumi still blushes a little when she takes a drink.
  • Morton's Fork: When a rainstorm strikes, the people in the queue are ejected either because they're holding up the line by not moving or wandering blindly out of the line.
  • The Nose Knows: Kurumi is able to maintain her place in line while still moving because she can smell the daifuku even in the heavy rainfall.
  • Outhumbling Each Other: When there's only a single daifuku left, both Kurumi and Momiji insist that the other one take it, claiming the other one deserves it more. They do it again when the Big Bang Ultimate Fluffy Daifuku is wheeled out, before deciding to bite it together.
  • Serious Business: The daifuku sold by the store have gotten so popular that it's led to lines that are so long that the store has had to hire security guards to deal with fights and other disruptions.
