Mei picks up Rentarou from his house to act as his personal maid. Rentarou's attempts to get Mei to open up only get her to try and drive to the Hanazono's mansion and then back to Rentarou's home. Unable to get her to make her own decisions, Rentarou decides to visit a nearby park to see cherry blossoms.
When they get there, Rentarou tries to get her to decide on what to eat by asking her to cook a meal for him. Unfortunately, she already prepared a meal for Rentarou in advance. Nevertheless, Rentarou thanks her for the meal, which he finds delicious.
As Rentarou looks at the cherry blossoms, Mei starts to fidget and asks Rentarou to give her any order. The Love Freak struggles to think of an order, but then asks Mei to bring him a nearby branch. However, he quickly realizes that he's treating her like a dog, and so he asks her to toss the branch, which he then chases after. This only confuses Mei, so Rentarou decides to ask her not to do anything to help him at all.
With this order in mind, Rentarou starts pointing out things Mei is subconsciously doing to help him, prompting her to go further and further from him until she drives back to the Hanazono mansion. Shortly after arriving, Rentarou calls her and explains that wondering where she went got his heart throbbing.
Frustrated at not being able to obey Rentarou's order, Mei is told by Hahari to go back to Rentarou, who explains that he was trying to get her to see that she is valuable to him even if she isn't obeying his orders. He returns her confession, but struggles with getting Mei to accept him as a boyfriend as opposed to a master.
Tropes:
- Early-Bird Cameo: Mai makes her first appearance looking after Hahari when Mei returns to the mansion.
- Impossible Task: Rentarou attempts to give Mei one of these in order to get her to make her own decisions.
- Logic Bomb: Rentarou uses this when he tells Mei not to do anything to help him, and then explains all the things she's subconsciously doing to help him, in order to get her to see that she doesn't need to obey his every whim to make him happy.
- Silly Brain Diagram: A map of Rentarou's brain shows that he (quite literally) has "love" written all over it, with only a tiny spark of "desire" in the center.
