Burning Down The House is the fifteenth episode of the second season of That '70s Show, and originally aired on February 7, 2000.

Jackie's house goes up in flames after Kelso brings a bunch of his friends to her elegant dinner party. Kitty discovers a secret about Bob.

Tropes:

  • Dramatic Irony: At the end of the episode, Kelso is completely unaware that he's on thin ice with Jackie over ruining her dinner party and causing a fire in her house.
  • Elephant in the Living Room: Red and Kitty can't get Bob's toupĂ©e out of their mind so much so that they have problems concentrating on the Scrabble session they are having with Midge and Bob, allowing Midge to win round after round repeatedly. Accordingly, Red's tiles spell "BALDING," Kitty's spell "A BAD RUG," and Bob's spell "SHOOT ME."note  Later, Red also puts tiles on the board to spell "CUEBALL."
  • Ironic Echo Cut: After Eric drunkenly serenades Donna, using a split screen instead of a cut:
Eric: Hey, I sang to Donna. Yeah, she kinda melted. I mean, she called me a dink, but I don't think she meant it.
Donna: Eric was such a dink tonight. And I mean it.
  • No Sympathy: In The Stinger, Jackie is unmoved by the plight of one of the teens who had lost his pants during the party, throwing him out of her house before he could find them, even as he tries to tell her that his mother would kill him.
  • Wild Teen Party: Jackie's dinner party quickly becomes one of these when Kelso invites Hyde and Fez, followed by a bunch of other teens.
