Recap / Teen Titans Go S 1 E 43 Brain Food

Go To

Tired of getting no respect because he's not as smart as the other Titans, Beast Boy uses Raven's spell book to cast a spell that makes the other Titans dumber. The only problem is, at the same time, a giant meteor is heading right for the planet.

This episode contains the following Tropes:

  • A Day in the Limelight: After getting hit by a spell that makes him smarter, Silkie single-handedly saves the world from the giant meteor.
  • Giant Mecha: In order to stop the meteor, an intelligence-enhanced Silkie constructs a giant mechanical robot to obliterate it with a Chest Blaster.
  • The Greatest Story Never Told: The Titans are too busy fighting the ocean to notice Silkie stopping the meteor, and give Beast Boy credit for it.
  • Insane Troll Logic: When Beast Boy notices the giant meteor and tries his hardest to come up with a plan, he decides that, since the meteor is being drawn in by Earth's gravity and the ocean is tied to gravitational forces, they have to fight the ocean to stop the meteor.
  • Running into the Window: Shortly after becoming dumb, Cyborg and Robin run into the window after seeing a flying seagull and trying to catch it. At the end, all the Titans ran for a Butterfly, only for them to do the same thing.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: At the end of the episode, Raven asks why Beast Boy didn't just undo the spell and return their intelligence when they were endangered by the meteor. Beast Boy replies that's just the kind of guy he is.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: Invoked on the other Titans by Beast Boy after he uses one of Raven's spells to make them all dumb.
