"Salary"
Amy starts as manager and hires Myrtle as her assistant; Myrtle accidentally has Garrett announce that learns that Amy earns upwards of $100,000.
Meanwhile, Glenn starts his first day as a floor worker and annoys Garrett by being unendingly positive, while Mateo tries to step into the role of floor supervisor.
Tropes:
- Bavarian Fire Drill: Mateo's method for taking the role of floor supervisor is, basically, to start acting like he's got the job already (and putting up his picture on the wall with the words "Floor Supervisor" on it).Mateo: Marcus, I'm gonna need you to fill in for Brett 'cause he raged out on someone's baby again. Sayid, clean the Pharmacy counter. The kids have been inhaling the pill dust.
Sayid: Why are you telling us what to do? You're not floor supervisor.
Mateo: Yeah, you're right. I just went to Office Supplies, picked up a clipboard, filled it with blank paper, and started giving people orders, without any authority whatsoever. I mean, come on.
Marcus: Come on, get with the program, Sayid. - The Bus Came Back: Myrtle is re-hired as Amy's assistant.
- Misplaced a Decimal Point: Apparently Glenn did this when setting up Marcus' pay, and as a result, he's been receiving ten times as much as he should have. Marcus never said anything, because he assumed everyone else at the store was earning $86 an hour.
