"Lovebirds"

"So to review, you released Dina's birds into the wild, allowed her to believe it was her fault, persuaded her to go back to her apartment, and proceeded to have sex with her in exchange for $17?"
Amy

Dina brings her birds to work since they've been feeling separation anxiety, but Garrett accidentally releases them. Wracked with guilt, he tries to tell Dina the truth, but ends up going back to her apartment and sleeping with her.

Meanwhile, Marcus enlists Cheyenne to do a tattoo of his mother on his back, Glenn makes videos for his daughter, while Sandra receives romantic gifts.

Tropes:

  • Continuity Nod: When they see lavish presents for Sandra, Carol and Justine remark that the last time this happened was when Sandra was sending herself presents when pretending to date Jeff.
  • Embarrassing Cover Up: Sandra has to enable Carol and Justine's belief that she's sending herself gifts from a fake boyfriend again because she's secretly having an affair with Jerry.
  • Hourglass Plot: Jonah initially doesn't want Garrett to tell Dina that he accidentally released her birds, while Amy wants Garrett to do it. By the end of the episode, they've reversed opinions.
  • When You Coming Home, Dad?: It's implied Glenn has been subconsciously aware that he's been living this trope with his adopted kids, and has been expecting to do so with his daughter Rose without even thinking about it. While recording a video for her, he apologizes for spending all his time at work, urging her not to make the same mistakes as him and wishing he could have the time all over again... when he realizes that he hasn't had it once with her yet, and has a chance not to make those mistakes. He promptly decides to resign as manager.
