Chapter 14: Morning

After spending the last day of school preparing her arguments, Nanako speaks to her parents about it. After a brief, harsh shouting match with her father, Kaho calms them and says they'll need to talk about it. Nanako returns to her room but eavesdrops as best she can: Ryotaro remains opposed, not wanting to lose Nanako again, and Kaho calmly talks him down from his worries. Soon he leaves for work, promising to think about it, and Kaho comes to tell Nanako as much. Nanako admits her erstwhile crush but says Ren's just a friend now, one she'd gotten to know, and Kaho recalls how she knew she'd fall in love with Ryotaro after just two conversations. Kaho reminds her to call Yu to ask to live with him, and Yu, busy in a meeting, says yes. Nanako affirms to Ren that he won't be alone.

Chapter 15: Afternoon

After wandering a while, Nanako stops at Kanji's house to hide a while, and is conscripted into being the camera girl for his webshow, Badass Crafting. Deciding to change up his plans due to Nanako's visit, he asks her to choose a project. She ends up choosing a fox with a blue body, giving him a sword to make him 'badass', then dressing him in a coat and sash. Kanji encourages his audience, saying they can be both badass and good at crafting, and remarks on the finished product saying that the samurai fox is likely a painter before ending the show. Nanako and Kanji praise the other's work, Kanji saying he wishes he had heard that when he was younger and, while making money from it is nice, he hopes his show can reach one other person who needs to hear it. Kanji accepts that Nanako doesn't want to talk about what's going on and offers to bake something with her.

Chapter 16: Evening

Ryotaro comes home late and gives Nanako permission to move in with Yu, as long as she can get into Shujin and maintain good behavior for Yu. Nanako is ecstatic and quickly starts on the enrollment paperwork, and as Kaho praises Ryotaro, the man hopes he doesn't regret his choice.

Chapter 17: Evening - SHINJUKU

At Crossroads Bar, Ichiko Ohya starts a night of drinking while bemoaning that she's being worked to death. Yu enters the bar, and Ohya recognizes him as a fellow journalist specializing in idol articles. Yu admits that he's not fond of the chief and was put there because he was snooping where he oughtn't be, and was looking for a confidant. Ohya is cautious as Yu gives her a picture of the director of the Special Investigations Unit, Tomohisa Aso. He won't tell her why he wants information, only that he does. Despite her reservations, Ohya agrees, with Yu agreeing in turn to tell her if he hears anything about Murakami Kayo. Yu leaves, Ohya keeping the picture and going back to drinking.
