It all begins to come crashing down...

This episode includes the following tropes:

  • Final Speech: Before succumbing to his battlefield injuries, a delirious Jaro Tapal delivers one last speech to Mace Windu.
Jaro: I can see it, Windu. As I lie here... so close to the end... I see so much. We...we were arrogant. Fought [the Imperials]...fought them like droids. I can see it all so...so clearly now. The invaders, the Imperials, and the chaos that follows. It will swallow us whole if we do not d-discard our pride... it may have devoured us... already... This war...in shadows... [...] It is a war we have not known, but one we have been fighting all along... But there is a new war coming... It's already here in fact. A true war... to devour... the secret war. We are at risk, Master Windu, of being...consumed! [...] Cal...Kestis... My Padawan... [...] Pr-Prepare him...Windu... prepare him... he is not ready... we... are not... ready..."
  • Flamethrower Backfire: This happens to a Sister of Battle who is armed with a flamer while fighting Aayla Secura. Aayla throws her lightsaber so that it slices right through the flamer, causing it to combust in the Sister's hands and kill her.
  • From Bad to Worse: As if the Battle of Axum couldn't get any worse, this episode drops the bombshell that some Genestealers hitched a ride with the Xek-Tek Imperials to the Star Wars universe and at least one Magus was imprisoned in a death camp after being discovered. And now she's been set loose upon Axum by an unsuspecting Kombirr.
  • High-Altitude Battle: This episode features a fight scene in the skies over Axum where Aayla Secura’s LAAT gunship comes under attack by Sisters of Battle who take out the clone troopers onboard and Aayla finds herself in a Sword Fight against Reigna Ordane atop the roof of the crashing gunship.
  • Interesting Situation Duel: This episode sees Aayla Secura get into a sword fight with Sister Legatine Reigna Ordane atop a flying LAAT gunship that soon begins to come crashing down.
  • Internal Reveal: The Bad Batch discovers that the Imperials had no intention of ever using Trench's bomb to destroy Anaxes when they stumble across said bomb disarmed and dismantled aboard the Luminous Reign. This is something that has been known to the viewers and listeners since Episode 8.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: Aayla senses a great disturbance in the Force during the Battle of Axum — describing it as the "sound of a billion voices, all crying out in despair" — caused by the destruction of multiple CIS worlds by Davik Thune's fleet.
  • Shaping Your Attacks: One of the Sisters of Battle fighting Aayla Secura uses a flamer that (by channeling her faith in the God-Emperor) shoots flames which are shaped like double-headed eagles and angels that pursue the Jedi.
  • Spoiler Cover: The episode's thumbnail cover art has the floating head of a hooded Genestealer Magus in the background, spoiling the episode's big reveal that Genestealers are present on Axum.
  • Wham Shot: As Jenova explains her backstory to Kombirr, the video then zooms out on an image of a female Genestealer Magus, revealing to the audience just what the girl that Kombirr rescued from the death camp actually is.
