Recap / Spidey And His Amazing Friends Green Thumb

Go To

Spidey and Ms. Marvel work together to save the city from Green Goblin's weather-changing device.

Tropes:

  • Blow You Away: When hail did not stop Spidey and Ms. Marvel from going after him, Green Goblin decides to activate extra strong wind like a hurricane to blow them away, as he finishes his sentence with this trope's name.
  • Didn't Think This Through: When the Goblin Gauntlet was getting sucked into the snow-nado, Green Goblin grabs onto the web line attached to it, only to get sucked into the snow-nado with the device.
    • Also, if Green Goblin did not make the snow-nado bigger, let alone create it in the first place, he might not end up in such trouble.
  • Dirty Coward: Upon realising that he made the snow-nado too big, Green Goblin's immediate response is to announce that he better scram and does just that.
  • Evil Is Petty: Green Goblin created the Goblin Gauntlet to create bad weathers on a summer day in order to make everyone miserable. He is even pleased with himself upon knowing that his actions caused the park to be empty with no visitors.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Green Goblin uses his weather-changing device to create a combination of all the bad weathers at once, creating a snow-nado, which he then makes even bigger until it became too big and he soon gets caught in it when he went after his device that was getting sucked into it.
  • Hostile Weather: Majority of this episode has Green Goblin using his new device to change the summer weather into bad, cold weathers such as snowing, hail, hurricane, tornadoes and a massive combination of the bad weathers, which he calls a snow-nado.
  • Improvised Umbrella: When Green Goblin changes the weather to hail, Spidey creates an umbrella out of webbing while Ms. Marvel uses one of her hands as an umbrella to cover herself as she lets Spidey ride on her other hand.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: If Green Goblin did not broadcast his speech about making bad weather in New York City, Ms. Marvel might never come to the city to help Spidey during this episode's events since she most likely came because of seeing Green Goblin's weather report.
  • Save the Villain: Spidey and Ms. Marvel save Green Goblin from the snow-nado.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: After making his snow-nado too big, Green Goblin decides to run off and leave the heroes to deal with his monstrous creation.
  • Shout-Out: After the weather is changed back to normal and Green Goblin is defeated, Ms. Marvel says to Spidey, "We make a great team, Spidey." which is something similar to what the Spider-Man in the 2017 Marvel's Spider-Man series said to the Ms. Marvel in that series in her debut episode School of Hard Knocks; "We actually make a good team."
  • Sticky Shoes: Spidey shoots webbing onto Ms. Marvel's shoes so that said webbing can help her stick onto the ground when Green Goblin used his device to create extra strong wind with the intention to blow the heroes away.
  • Team Spirit: After defeating Green Goblin, Ms. Marvel implies this trope as she says to Spidey that they make a great team. Spidey responds by agreeing with her.
  • Weather Manipulation: Green Goblin's Goblin Gauntlet device allows its users to change the weather into any of the options on said device.
  • Weird Weather: The appearance of snow, tornadoes and cold weather is unnatural and unusual during summer in New York City.
