Fourteen months have passed since Jax, Clay and others were incarcerated, with their parole in their hands and big plans when they get back, such as Jax finally getting to see his young son. Unfortunately for them, a lot of things have changed in Charming, Viktor Putlova didn't forget about them scamming him, and a new lawman becomes a serious threat to SAMCRO.
- By-the-Book Cop: Unlike Unser, Roosevelt is completely infallible and hostile towards SAMCRO.
- Expository Hairstyle Change: Jax had his hair cut short in prison, while Tara grows hers out to resemble Gemma's, and Juice grows some hair too that covers his head tattoos.

- Jaded Washout: After retiring, Unser lives in an RV in complete squalor.
- Jail Bake: Otto gets a razor smuggled to him inside a boiled egg to slit his wrists and get in the infirmary to kill the man who attacked Jax.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Putlova arranged for Jax to get stabbed in prison, and Jax exacts his revenge by stabbing Putlova to death.
- The Mafiya: The Sons deal with Putlova again, taking him out for good.
- The Mole: Putlova's new right-hand man is an FBI agent, and he gets killed by the Sons along with his boss.
- Situational Sexuality: Gemma and Clay make a joke about him using Juice in prison after his less-than-admirable performance in bed.
