Everyone is relaxing for a while, but Eggman already has a plot in mind, one which involves a watery monster.
This episode contains examples of:
- Big Damn Heroes: Knuckles gets this moment when he arrives just in time to stop Chaos 1's fight with Sonic.
- Compressed Adaptation: The game's version had Sonic fight Chaos 0 and then Knuckles fighting Chaos 2. In here, Chaos' second form is fought by Sonic and Knuckles working together in quick succession. Chaos 1 however still remains as The Unfought
- The Ditz: Big the Cat, naturally.
- Fat Idiot: Also Big the Cat. Enough for Chris and Cream to spend a good portion of the episode to realize when they first meet him.
- Foreshadowing: When Chaos 0 makes his first appearance, everyone is terrified of him. Cheese however is overjoyed to see his race's guardian and actually tries to hug him, only to be pulled away by Cream. Once Chaos 2 is defeated by Sonic and Knuckles and everyone else is worried about what Dr. Eggman has planned for him, Cheese however looks more dejected than worried that Chaos and Eggman are working together. This would be the first hint at Chaos' relationship with the Chao race.
- Going Commando: Cream is revealed to be not wearing anything beneath her dress when Lindsey Thorndyke shuts the door on her.note
- Shock and Awe: Both Sonic and Chaos 2 demonstrate this superpower. In Chaos 2's case, he can generate an electric force-field to protect himself from Sonic's spin dashes and Knuckles' punches. In Sonic's case, this is more of a side effect from overcharging his Spin Dash in order to penetrate said force-field.
