Recap / Sonic Boom S 2 E 33 Sticks And Amys Excellent Staycation

Go To

With the boys leaving town for a Dude-itude concert, Amy is looking forward to a relaxing weekend with Sticks. However, Sticks is worried that, with their team going to be down three members, they have to be prepared for an Eggman attack. Fortunately, Amy has a plan to keep Eggman at bay, using a homemade Sonic doll (that she keeps around for totally legitimate, definitely non-creepy reasons) as a ward. With Eggman distracted by picking a fight with the doll, Amy and Sticks head off to enjoy their girl's weekend.

Sticks starts things with mud clump hurling, but Amy prefers something a little less repugnant, uncouth, and boorish. Amy then tries to introduce Sticks to the world of knitting, but nursing home activity stuff isn't Sticks' bag. Finally, Amy comes up with an idea to satisfy them both: spending the weekend at the day spa, where Sticks can indulge her love of mud by soaking in a tub full of it.

While they're relaxing, Amy gets a call from Sonic, who wants to complain about the miserable time he's having on the road trip. Amy tells him that it can't be that bad, but then overhears Old Timer talking about an official letter from the Book of Records, and admits she was wrong. Meanwhile, Belinda, who is also in the day spa, overhears that Sonic and the others are out of town, and gets an evil idea.

Back at the field, Eggman has Orbot and Cubot "distract" the doll, by wearing Tails masks and showing off their "sweet dance moves." Eggman is annoyed by their terrible distractions, but tries to sneak up on the doll. The wind, however, makes the doll turn around to face Eggman, and Eggman flees.

At a digsite, Belinda informs her husband, Charlie, that, with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles out of town, now would be the perfect time for them to take over the village. Charlie likes the idea, but is too busy with his excavation.

Back at the field, Eggman has all his robots attack "Sonic" to destroy him once and for all. Gloating in his victory, Eggman starts to read a victory speech he apparently wrote a long time ago, but Cubot ruins the moment by pointing out that it was just a doll of Sonic he destroyed. Stunned that he fell for such a "brilliant, elaborate ruse," Eggman vows revenge.

Eggman immediately launches an attack on the village, at which point Amy and Sticks reveal that it was their ruse. Eggman attacks them, but Sticks and Amy manage to fight him off using things from the spa. After Eggman's retreat, however, Belinda shows up, finally wanting a piece of the villainous action. She begins to use the freeze ray from her husband's mech suit to freeze the other villagers in place.

Sticks and Amy prepare to fight back, but are interrupted by a call from Sonic, who tells them that he, Tails, and Knuckles are in jail. Amy passes this off as one of their practical jokes and hangs up. Sticks and Amy then work together, with Amy using mud clump hurling and Sticks using knitting to defeat Belinda and send her flying away.

Belinda is disappointed that she was so easily defeated, but Charlie reveals the true reason behind his excavation. He was digging up an anniversary present for Belinda, which is revealed to be a wingsuit of her own. Belinda loves it and gives Charlie a hug.

That night, Sticks is amazed that it was Belinda that ended up being the true threat, and not Eggman. Amy admits you never know what to expect around Hedgehog Village. Eggman then walks by, carrying the Sonic Doll from before, claiming he needs it for research.
