Another engine is needed on Thomas' branch. Unfortunately, only one is available...

This episode contains examples of:

  • Dissension Remorse: When Toby informs Thomas and Percy that Diesel made up those names about them, Thomas and Percy feel bad for believing in his lies, knowing that they wouldn't never do that to each other. Thus both made up for this as well as their argument over the near collision.
  • Exact Eavesdropping: The ending of the episode has Gordon becoming shocked of hearing that the Fat Controller allows Diesel to be a part of the railway.
  • Feud Episode: Between Thomas and Percy.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Diesel at first glance. It seemed like he was up to his old tricks in telling lies about the engines, but he instead uses them to reconcile Thomas and Percy.
  • What Were You Thinking?: Toby asks this to Thomas and Percy for believing in Diesel lies.
