Hand in Hand! Our New Attack is the fifth episode of Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure, and the 923nd episode overall of the Pretty Cure franchise.

Terrified of her safety, Sora tries to do things on her own without Mashiro.

Tropes Featured in this Episode:

  • The Cameo: Cure Summer returns for the ending.
  • Catapult Nightmare: Sora shoots right up with an arm out after her nightmare about Mashiro getting hurt.
  • Combination Attack: The Precure Updraft Shining attack is introduced in this episode.
  • Friendless Background: Sora spent so much time working on being a hero that she neglected to make bonds with others. This is also why she's terrified about Mashiro getting involved; she doesn't want to lose the first friend she ever made.
  • It's Not You, It's My Enemies: A platonic case - as Mashiro is Sora's first real friend, Sora is terrified of her getting hurt and starts having nightmares, thus pushing her to do things on her own so that Mashiro doesn't need to transform.
  • Mythology Gag: Sora draws a picture of Cure Sky and Cure Prism together. The caption she writes next to it? "Futari wa Pretty Cure".
  • Nightmare Sequence: Sora has a nightmare about Mashiro/Cure Prism being severely injured in battle.
  • Rule of Symbolism: Twice there are scenes where Sora/Cure Sky and Mashiro/Cure Prism are standing at a distance from one another: once at a crosswalk and another across a set of buildings. This reflects how Sora is distancing herself away from Mashiro despite Mashiro doing her best to reach out to her.
  • Temporary Bulk Change: Kabaton's Ranborg is fueled by the calories he ate from oden earlier in the day, which renders him much more slender than before.
