Hic-hic-homesick! Don't Cry, Ellee-chan! is the third episode of Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure, and the 921th episode overall of the Pretty Cure franchise.
Elle-chan is homesick and is upset because she can't return home.
Tropes:
- Book Ends: The episode begins and ends with someone having a video chat with their parents. Mashiro in the beginning and Ellee at the end.
- The Cameo: As promised in the last episode, this episode has the first guest appearance from a previous series Cure in the ending. This episode has the lead from the previous season, Cure Precious.
- Chekhov's Gun: Mashiro has to stop Sora from touching a poisonous mushroom early in the episode. Later, those same mushrooms appear again and make Kabaton sick. thus defeating him.
- Cross-Popping Veins: Kabaton gets two when he insists he will eat the mushrooms.
- The Glasses Come Off: When they need to check if a perfectly round rock is a geode for Sky Jewels, Sora simply hands Mashiro her backpack, before psyching herself up and cracking the rock clean in half with a single strike.
- Growling Gut: Kabaton gets one as a result of stomach pain from eating the toxic mushrooms.
- Half-Human Hybrid: Mashiro is revealed to be one-quarter Skylandian.
- Internal Reveal: Sora learns of Elle's royal status near the end of the episode.
- Monster of the Week: Lanborgs return again. In this episode, Kabaton transforms a bamboo stalk into an antagonist.
- The Reveal: Yoyo casually drops that she's a Skylandian, meaning that Mashiro is one-quarter Skylandian.
- One-Steve Limit: Zigzagged; while Mahiru is unique, we also get another Akira.
- Shout-Out: The motions Sora pulls off with the Skyland Divine Fist are derived from Bruce Lee, Saint Seiya and even Space Sheriff Gavan
- Visible Sigh: Elle-chan gets one after Sora burps her.
- Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises: Sora and Mashiro get these when they learn that the Sky Jewels are closer than they thought.
