Bowser arrives as part of the royal rumble, ready to do battle with Zero Ridley alongside Liz. Meanwhile, Team Sonic reconvenes with Peach and the others at Skyworld and are met with some uninvited guests, seizing their opportunity to steal some important artifacts related to the Creator.

The episode can be viewed here.

This episode provides examples of the following tropes:

  • Cast from Lifespan: All "lesser trophy" Charizards like Liz and those in the Moonstone Tribe only have one life-stock. If they take too much damage, they lose it, and are reset. Fully fledged trophies like Captain Falcon, Bowser, and Link have ten lives, and if they lose them all, they are reset. The only way for a Pokémon like Charizard to get a proper ten-life stock is by being caught by a Pokemon Trainer. Wario offers his full ten-life stock as a way for Liz to become a proper fighter, where any lives she loses will come out of Wario's instead. Bowser is incredulous that Wario managed to still have ten lives after a month.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The Heart Container that Wario gives Liz comes into play here twice. It is first stolen by Ridley after Phantom Ganon saves him from a Combination Attack by Bowser and Liz, bringing him back to 0%. This ends up however being a blessing for Liz and Bowser, as Ridley restoring his health with her heart container also lessens the power of his Critical Status Buff that he gained from Lucario's data, dealing far less damage to her and allowing her a moment of reprieve.
  • Close on Title: "The Ruby-Eyed Draco" doesn't have its normal intro sequence and title card appear at the beginning, eschewing it for an actiony Cold Open. The Episode's title doesn't appear until the end, following Lizardon's Mega Evolution into Mega Charizard X. The Episode featured a Precious Opal the Shiny, the matriarch of the Moonstone Charizard Tribe, who had a pair of ruby eyes, like the title suggests. What the title refers to is Liz's own transformation, where she has her own pair of red eyes.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Ridley, in the midst of his sadism, fails to realize in time that using the heart container to recover his health would lower the power of his attacks granted by his Critical Status Buff, and still tries to torture her. As such, his attacks deal only mostly painful damage instead of being lethal enough to put down Liz.
  • George Lucas Altered Version: The version of the episode uploaded to SmashKingArchives has the fully animated third ED sequence, as well as audio adjustments.
  • Insert Song: When Lizardon transforms into Mega Charizard X and takes on Ridley, it is set to "INNOSENSE" by FLOW (from Tales of Zestiria the X.)
  • Inopportune Impersonation Failure: Liz's Lady Reshiram disguise comes apart after being blasted by Zero Ridley, who immediately reveals her presence in the battle royale and to the Moonstone Tribe of Charizards watching.
  • Mythology Gag: Liz's Final Smash being Mega Charizard X is because Charizard, being the only Pokemon from Pokemon Trainer to be brought on for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, gets this transformation in place of Triple Finish. Liz herself achieved this form in "Liz's Fourth World Logs" (a series chronicling Liz's arrival in the fourth world that was posted on Tigura's deviantart page).
  • The Reveal:
    • The viewer finally learns the identities of all four Tetracardinal Trophies through a brief flashback: Ridley, Rayquaza, Petey Piranha, and Porky Minch.
    • The Triple Finish is Red's Final Smash. Lizardon, thanks to Wario becoming her Pokemon Trainer, gets her very own Final Smash, and uses it at the very end of the episode: Mega Charizard X.
  • Title Theme Drop: The episode starts without the usual opening, "Hirari" playing, with an action-packed Cold Open taking place instead. The song doesn't play until near the end of the Episode, revealing that Liz was okay and managed to switch places with her Substitute, giving her a chance to recover.
