The credit card that started it all.

Sparks has talked Murphy into getting a credit card, and Murphy promptly buys tons of stuff with it, leaving him in debt. Taking another suggestion from Sparks, he sends Quinn, Stormy, Debbie, and Marco to find pirate treasure in the Viking, a sunken ship, despite their protests that it's from World War II (meaning there can't be any pirate treasure), the timbers are rotting, and there are sharks in the area.

Sparks, of course, has his own reasons for wanting them to go over there: he's got life insurance policies on all of them.

The salvage team quickly informs Murphy that the only thing on board the ship are skeletons and are prepared to return, but Stormy, while clowning around, had separated from the rest and found wires leading to dynamite-dynamite that Sparks had placed there earlier to blow up the ship and everyone inside it. Everybody realizes the danger too late.

Sparks admits the whole scheme to Murphy while Murphy chills in a hot tub-and that he's got a policy on Murphy too, as he holds up a Tesla coil. Murphy, realizing he's about to die, cheerfully tells Sparks he'll see him in hell. Sparks agrees and throws the coil in, but with his last breath Murphy takes him with him by touching Sparks as he's electrocuted.

An investigation team is then seen in Murphy's room. They conclude that it was a double suicide, thanks to finding out about Murphy's credit card debt and mistaking them for lovers.

Tropes:

  • The Stinger: Sparks and Murphy are in Hell comparing punishments. Murphy is in a hot tub of burning hot lava, and Sparks has hot coals in the buttocks of his pants.
