Episode 8:
No End to the Chaos! The Combat Revue Challenge!
The Moscow Combat Revue challenges the Imperial Combat Revue to a three-match competition.
This episode provides examples of:
- Big "NO!": Klara lets one out when Leyla awakens her powers and when she watches Sakura getting attacked by the Moscow Combat Revue and subsequently knocked down to ground below.
- Call-Back: In the game, the Combat Revue World Games was said to be a competition of both stage and combat much like what was demonstrated in this episode.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Leyla overpowers Sakura when she tries to rescue Klara at the tower. Hatsuho and Azami don't fare much better with the dummy units they fight against. Justified as they have practice swords against the dummy units' live weaponry.
- Go Through Me: Attempted by Sakura to prevent Leyla from getting to Klara, it does not work and ends with both her and her trashed Mugen being blasted off the arena's roof.
- Made of Iron: Sakura ends up surviving her fall off the stadium with minimal injury.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Klara becomes shocked upon realizing that her awakening destroyed much of the stadium.
- Opt Out: Moscow forfeits the second round because of how silly it is, to spite the Imperial troop, and because their plan requires them to advance to the mock battle.
- The Reveal: After her Curb-Stomp Battle with Sakura, Leyla reveals herself as a half-demon. Klara, is also revealed to be this as well.
- Rule of Three: The competition between the Moscow and Imperial Combat Revues is split into three matches. The first match is a dance battle, the second involves bread-eating and the third is a mock battle.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Klara decides to bail on the Flower Division at the end of the episode, ashamed of how much destruction she did to the stadium.
- Wham Episode: Leyla and Klara's reveal.
