Go To

When a cop is gunned down on his patrol, it initially seems a case of gang-related violence, but when a second cop is killed, it swiftly becomes apparent that more is going on, and Chris fears it has a connection to something from her past.

Tropes

  • Cop Killer: What starts the episode off is a seemingly random cop being gunned down on his beat.
  • Freudian Excuse: Chris tells Street the reason she doesn't date cops is because her boyfriend when she was a patrol cop was corrupt and tried to rope her into what he and his cronies were up to.
  • I Should Have Done This Years Ago: Chris acknowledges she should have reported her suspicions that the cops she was working with were dirty 5 years ago, but she stayed silent because she didn't have enough evidence to go to Internal Affairs and feared the consequences for her career if she reported other cops for what at the time was just a hunch.
  • It's Personal: The plot of the episode revolves around two young men going after the the corrupt cops who framed their brother on a drugs charge, resulting in his death in prison.
  • Red Herring: The head of a local gang is initially suspected for ordering the murder of the first cop as revenge for the guy arresting one of his lieutenants, but as the gang leader points out, even if he were stupid enough to kill a cop, he'd do the job himself. He's exonerated when another cop is killed while he's in custody.
  • Roaring Rampageof Revenge: A pair of brothers are going after the cops they hold responsible for their older brother's death in prison.
  • Shipper on Deck: Luca and Street are apparently trying to convince Tan to propose to his girlfriend.
  • Taking You with Me: The second cop to be attacked manages to seriously injure one of his killers before dying. The guy is too injured to escape with his friends and ultimately commits Suicide by Cop when cornered.
