Mario gets invited by Peach for cake at her castle.
This is the third video from the classic era to get a remaster after "Freddy's Spaghtteria" and "Who Let The Chomp Out?", preceding "Mario Simulator" as wellnote .
Contains examples of:
- Actionized Adaptation: The remastered version has more extravagant action and shots that suit the series' later humor. This includes Mario grabbing Peach by the arm, spinning her around like a tornado and flinging her into the distance instead of just picking her up and chucking her, and then causing a World-Wrecking Wave when he explodes from anger instead of just leaving a single coin.
- Death by Adaptation: In the remastered edition, Toad is killed in Mario's rage-induced explosion. Since he tricked Mario into thinking the cake was a lie, this counts as a Karmic Death.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: With this being the channel's first video, there are many things different about this video than all others that follow.
- The screen is much smaller in this video.
- The text for the video is only has simple fonts and color fonts, unlike the usual fonts with color outlines.
- The whole video is just a walkthrough of the beginning of the actual game, with no out of the ordinary edits except for Mario blowing up at the end.
- The audio has an echo.
- Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: Toad tells that the cake doesn't actually exist, shocking Mario.Toad: TEH. CAKE. WAS. A.
Mario: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! [Runs off in anguish before Toad can finish his sentence.] - Rage Quit: Mario does this when he's informed that, well, The cake was a lie.
- They Killed Kenny Again: Mario explodes during the midst of his tantrum; Toad celebrates. In the remaster, Toad dies in the same explosion.
- Unreliable Expositor: Toad tells Mario that Peach worried that Mario was too fat to use the traveling pipes, so she decided to check by inviting him to the castle with a false promise for cake. When Mario runs out of the castle in a rage, Toad snickers and calls him a "sucker", revealing he made the whole thing up.
- "You!" Exclamation: Mario's response to Peach for lying to him about having cake for him.
