Mario, SMG4 and Meggy have an EPIC adventure filled with magic, action and… anime hair?
After a botched attempt to summon spaghetti with Kamek's wand, Mario, SMG4 and Meggy end up in the world-hoppingly popular world of Final Fantasy, and end up forcibly enrolled in the local magic academy.
Tropes:
- The Bus Came Back: This marks Saiko's reappearance since "Doki Doki Mario Club", turning her into a recurring character from then on.
- Idiot Ball: For the first time in the series, it's Meggy—the Only Sane Woman and (up to this point) Flawless Token of the series—who gets the gang in trouble instead of Mario, with her failure to suppress her Trigger-Happy tendencies botching their stealth mission.
- Product Placement: A small portion of this episode basically serves as an ad for Final Fantasy Awakening (the now-defunct mobile tie-in to Final Fantasy Type-0).
- Smart Ball: In a rare move, Mario actually takes the team's stealth mission seriously when he'd otherwise be dumb enough to blow their cover.
- Visual Pun: Bob bought a shirt from Target, which has a big target on it.
