Crops across Gilenor have been failing, and Martin the Master Gardener wants you to investigate, by talking to gardeners across the land about why they think the problems are occurring. You get a lot of confused unhelpfulness, but eventually someone will suggest that it's fairies. Despite both you and Martin being skeptical, you agree to go investigate Zanaris.
Good thing you did, because it turns out it really was fairies. The Fairy Queen was injured fighting a monster called a Tanglefoot, and is currently in a coma with the Fairy Godfather is ruling as regent. Tanglefoots need to be attacked with magic secateurs, and the Queen lost hers during the battle. They contain her magic essence, and can be used to heal her. To get them, you'll need to get a pair of magic secateurs of you own and kill the Tanglefoot that took the Queen's pair. You then give them to the Fairy Godfather, who promises to use them to cure the Queen.
