Recap / Rune Scape Waterfall Quest

Go To

A young child who lives near the scenic Baxtorian Falls is convinced that there's treasure beneath the waterfall. He's not coming back inside until he finds it, and when you offer to help (after being asked to look for him by his mom), he refuses, paranoid that you'll take all the treasure for yourself.

Well, too bad for him he didn't accept your offer, because now you're a competitor. The treasure the kid is looking for really exists, hidden in chambers behind the waterfall. The place once belonged to the legendary Elf king Baxtorian (namesake of the falls), which could only be accessed by him and his beloved wife Glarial. He's said to have retreated there for the remainder of his life after he returned from campaigns to the east to find his homeland rent by civil war and his wife captured.

To get in, you'll need to do a bit of tomb-robbing. Glarial's tomb is nearby, and unless you have her ashes and necklace with you, you won't be able to enter. With the help of said necklace and some runes, you can access the treasure. Congradulations, quest complete!

Waterfall Tropes

  • Despair Event Horizon: Baxtorian crossed it when his wife was captured.
  • Happily Married: Baxtorian and Glarial.
  • Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: You aren't allowed to join the kid's treasure hunt because he doesn't think you'll share with him. You end up finding the treasure anyway, and since you're not teamed up with him, there's no reason to share.
