It’s a Dog’s life
- Ambiguous Situation: The Butler claims that Granny died of "lead poisoning", but when he drops a pipe, it gives off an interpretation on whether he beat the Granny to death with the pipe or he deliberately caused her lead poisoning.
- Downer Ending: The duo end up getting stuffed along with the Granny while the Butler gets off without consequence.
- Dramatic Thunder: When Ren and Stimpy realizing that they were put out in a pet cemetery in the Granny's backyard, a thunder and lightning storm instantly brews out of nowhere to heighten the horror.
- Karma Houdini: It’s heavily implied that the Butler killed Granny, yet he ends up getting on top.
- Nonstandard Character Design: The Butler, especially combined with the scratchy Thick-Line Animation by Wang Film Productions. The shot of him saying "Lead poisoning" looks like it came from a completely different show.
- Trauma Conga Line: Ren and Stimpy almost get killed by a gas chamber, get tormented by the Granny, and end up getting stuffed when Granny dies.
Egg Yolkeo
- Beatnik: The bacon strip and toast slice that serve as parodies of the Fox and Cat in Pinocchio dress and act like stereotypical beatniks.
- Downer Ending: Stimpy ends up making an egg salad sandwich out of Egg Yolkeo.
- Whole-Plot Reference: Basically it’s a retelling of Disney’s Pinocchio (1941)
