After shutting down the Strogg Intelligence Network, Joker finds himself at the gates of the Industrial region. Stepping out of the doors nets him a nasty surprise, but eventually that's the least of Joker's problems.

The levels of the unit are "Industrial Facility", "Outer Base", "Refinery", "Water Treatment Plant" and "Badlands", and the unit's main objective is to destroy the Strogg Fuel Production Facility.

Followed by the Spaceport unit.

These levels show examples of:

  • Ability Required to Proceed:
    • "Industrial Facility" has several:
      • Right in the arena where you fight the Beta Class Super Tank, you'll find the Security Pass that allows you to enter the main building.
      • After destroying the second Beta Class Super Tank in the level, you get access to the Green Key in a nearby chamber that allows you to enter "Outer Base".
      • The Red Key obtained in "Outer Base" unlocks the access to "Refinery".
    • The Airstrike Marker located in "Badlands" triggers the airstrike that destroys the Strogg fuel refinery, as well as allowing you to pick up the Blue Key in a nearby building that allows you to find the entrance to the next unit.
  • Book Ends: The level "Outer Base" begins and ends in the same garage door.
  • Broken Bridge: Access to the next unit is locked by a door located at the beginning of the "Refinery" level that is only opened by a keycard located in a room after the Strogg Fuel Refinery was destroyed.
  • Death from Above:
    • The main objective of the level "Industrial Refinery" is to destroy a series of fueling tanks placed in a specific area. This is achieved by placing a key item called Airstrike Marker into a receptacle. The bombers will destroy both the objective and any other living creature in the area, including Stroggos and players.
    • At several points in "Badlands", earthquakes will trigger and make debris fall. Players should step outside of them, lest be they killed.
  • Kaizo Trap: The active tracks at the end of the level can still kill you if you step on them.
  • Monster Closet:
    • All over the place in "Industrial Facility":
      • At the end of the entrance corridor, there's a button-triggered door. Pressing both buttons a total of 13 times trigger a nearby wall explosion that reveals a Parasite.
      • Just stepping nearby the garage door opens it, revealing the third Beta Class Super Tank.
      • Going past the boxes opens a huge depot nearby, revealing three Parasites.
      • Triggering this area's secret and going down the stairs will reveal another chamber with two more Parasites.
      • After unlocking the last door and going down the curved stairs, entering into the pillar room will reveal a small hidden chamber with a Laser Guard on it.
      • After going down the stairs in the last cargo-and-stairs room, at the bottom another small chamber is revealed, containing... Two Parasites.
    • "Outer Base":
      • After falling through the vent, going to the upper road will open a chamber nearby the gate, revealing two Berserkers.
      • Approaching the button in the cargo area which is nearby a window pointing to a computer room will open a chamber from where two Berserkers and a Laser Guard come from.
      • After passing the door triggered by the aforementioned button, falling to a small chamber below and picking up the Dualfire Famage will reveal another hidden chamber with two more Berserkers.
    • "Refinery":
      • Just approaching the Blue Key Door area spawns a small chamber from where a Parasite appears.
      • Approaching the Fuel Tanks area from the lower passage triggers a nearby wall explosion from where a Parasite comes from.
      • Exiting the final warehouse area prior to the transport to the Spaceport Unit triggers a crate explosion, from which a Parasite appears.
    • "Water Treatment Plant":
      • Going down the ramp at the left after entering the first room ends in the beginning of the water river. Right after exiting, a chamber is revealed behind, from where a Hyperblaster Guard will come from.
      • Entering the Warehouse with the broken button will open another hidden chamber in the hallway prior to it, from where two Berserkers come from.
  • Mook-Themed Level: The most common enemy in the level "Badlands" is the savage (though weak) abomination Gekk. The level itself is a bunch of decaying natural structures in a zone full of earthquakes.
  • Rewarding Vandalism:
    • The first secret after opening the first Monster Closet in the main building of "Industrial Facility" requires the player to shoot a black box in order to reveal a hidden button.
    • "Refinery":
      • The first secret requires you to shoot a black box in order to reveal a pushable button.
      • The last secret requires you to shoot a broken pipe in order to get in and pick up the secret items.
    • "Water Treatment Plant":
      • One of the secrets require shooting a black box in order to make the box above it fall and officiate as a proper platform. This allows the player to reach the secret Quad Damage.
      • Combined with the above, falling to the floor and going to a certain dead-end in the same area will have the player reaching a bunch of shootable cables behind a panel. This triggers a maintenance hatch override and a ladder will fall from the ceiling.
      • Back to the primary gates area, one of the water conducts can be shoot. With the help of a Rebreather, the player can use these conducts in order to a) reach a hidden chamber which allows the player to reach the top level and b) use the other conduct to reach a hidden Invulnerability.
      • In the final room of the level, shooting some broken grates near the exit reveal another secret Body Armor.
  • Take That!: Xatrix doesn't like rocket jumpersnote , and makes it clear, first by giving rocket jumps a higher knockback and damage, then by introducing an Easter Egg in the level "Industrial Facility" with the following text:
"No reward for you, rocket jumper."
  • Teleporting Keycard Squad:
    • "Industrial Facility":
      • Picking up the Security Pass in the first courtyard spawns three Icaruses.
      • Picking up the Green Key in the second courtyard spawns a Gunner after the first elevator and another Gunner and an Enforcer after the second on your way to said door.
      • Returning from "Refinery" the first time, five Icaruses await the player at the entrance to that level, and a Gladiator will spawn near the blue-forcefield-protected computer.
    • "Outer Base": Just entering the area where the main objective must be accomplished triggers, in order, three Laser Guards in the area, a Gladiator on the first hallway, and three more Laser Guards in the outside area.
    • "Refinery":
      • Receiving the orders to pursue the stolen Airstrike Marker spawns a Parasite in the lower conduct and a Tank in the first outer area.
      • Returning from "Badlands" and exiting the building has two Gladiators awaiting at the outer area, and an Iron Maiden on the ceiling of the Blue Key Door area.
      • After picking up the Blue Key, another pair of Gladiators await at the Blue Key Door area.
    • "Water Treatment Plant":
      • Returning to the primary flood gates area from the secondary water area (thus reaching the mid level) will spawn several Laser, Ripper and Hyperblaster guards in the area.
      • From the hidden water chamber, the player can take a ladder to the top level, where they'll be received by a bunch of Weapon Guards which spawn only by coming from this ladder.
      • After opening the secondary gates, four Gekk will come from a cave atop of the area's walls.
  • Your Princess Is in Another Castle!: The first time you enter the Refinery, you're tasked with providing support for the airstrike that is meant to destroy the Strogg fuel refinery. However, upon entering the area in question, your superiors inform you that the Airstrike Marker has been stolen by nearby Gekk. So you need to backtrack into "Industrial Facility" in order to locate the entrance to "Water Treatment Plant" and later "Badlands".
