Recap / Prehistoric Park Reimagined S 2 E 7 Uwanda Wa Miiba

Go To

Three weeks after the woolly mammoth mission and subsequent beginning of the park's work at preparing for opening day, the park has its first rescue mission for a brand new year in the form of traveling to the Jurassic Period Tendaguru Formation to rescue the mighty kentrosaurus! And while the rescue team is away in the Jurassic Period, not only do tensions begin to reach a slight breaking point between Colette and Alice, but Leon makes efforts at playing cupid for Simba and Nala the cave lions...while completely unaware that he himself is being observed under a potentially romantic light by Yolanda.

  • Big Sister Instinct: Alice's naturally protective nature in regards to Jack comes to a head when her suspicions behind Colette waiting so long before the day of this particular episode to try to befriend her after having spent a considerable amount of time bonding with Jack result in her snapping at Colette.
  • Book Ends: Much like how Leon ends up affectionately whispering 'never change Yolanda, never change' towards Yolanda under his breath near the end of Spirits of the Ice Forest, here Yolanda finds herself affectionately whispering 'never change Leon, never change' towards him while she's privately watching him from afar.
  • Fantastic Fauna Counterpart: Many of the dinosaurs featured in this episode all fulfill roles in their environment similar to modern African animals, with the eorugops and veterupristisaurus serving roles similar to lions and other big cats, the sauropods serving roles similar to elephants and giraffes, the kentrosaurus serving a role relatively similar to rhinos, and the dysalotosaurus and elaphrosaurus serving roles similar to ostriches and zebras.
  • Gentle Giant Sauropod: All seven of the sauropod species encountered in this mission prove fairly amicable and hardly all that troublesome to get through the portal.
  • Interspecies Friendship: Will and Alice's companionable dynamic with Baloo is shown in this episode to have successfully made the jump from Prehistoric Earth to this story.
  • Savage Spinosaurs: Averted with the ostafrikasaurus, which ultimately never behave all that violently over the course of their screentime.
  • Shipper on Deck: Leon turns out to be very supportive of the idea of Simba and Nala the cave lions mating with each other. And as of this episode, he's going so far as to actively make efforts at playing cupid for them.
  • Ship Tease: Leon/Yolanda is heavily teased via Yolanda's Stalker with a Crush behavior around Leon, Will/Alice is subtly teased via Will's thoughts about how much Alice has been weighing on his mind and how much help and support she's been providing to him in handling the park now being prepared to open to the public, and Jack/Colette is teased in Colette's efforts at getting in Alice's good graces and how Alice herself seems to believe that Jack is romantically interested in Colette.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Yolanda is revealed to have started watching Leon admiringly from afar during the week immediately before the one this episode's mission occurred. And in the present time, she's seen watching him from afar behind a still under construction food stand while he's busy playing cupid for Simba and Nala.
