In the days that unfold immediately after the infamous 'Gogo Reef Incident', it's business as usual for the aquarists as they work to continue fulfilling their duties even after the brand new influx of Devonian period ocean life into their work schedule.
- A Day in the Limelight: This chapter somewhat serves as this for the continuity's two currently introduced planned prominent aquarist characters as well as for captain Stavros and first mate Kira.
- Cannot Keep a Secret: As made clear in the narrative of this chapter, aquarist Laura Allen is more or less the resident gossip hen of Novum's employees, and usually guaranteed to allow any secret she's told to become common knowledge among the staff by the end of the hour...which makes her having so far successfully avoided giving away the existence of the park to the public all the more miraculous!
- Interspecies Friendship: Stavros is revealed to have formed a bond with Nemo the juvenile nothosaurus in the weeks (if not months) that have followed the mission in which the nothosaurus and other Triassic Switzerland animals were rescued.
- Sea Monster: Very much averted for all the large prehistoric ocean animals, which are all treated like fairly normal and realistic animals as opposed to sensationalized monsters.
- Shout-Out: One of the adult male cymbospondylus rescued back in New Blood is revealed here to have been named Sinbad.
- Take That!: A self-deprecating one to the original Prehistoric Park series, when Laura and Mia talk about how annoying it would be to be followed around by a camera crew when they're trying to go about their day-to-day work - and how annoying it would be for the team to babysit them on missions.
