When Flynn is put out of action during a battle, he ends up reflecting on how he came to where he is today.

- Berate and Switch: After Flynn saves a group of people who left outside of Corinth, his father is seemingly scolding him for putting himself in danger for people he doesn’t know, until his father says that he’s proud of him for doing so.
- Better than a Bare Bulb: The first scene of this episode is devoted entirely to lampshading various Power Rangers tropes and coming up with "serious" in-world explanations for them.
- Chekhov's Gun: We find out that excess energy from morphing is the reason why explosions tend to occur behind Rangers upon morphing. Flynn's suit goes wrong due to a build up of time dilation energy. Flynn's fix for this issue ends up causing the explosion to be large enough to be weaponized.
- Also, the By the Power of Grayskull! catchphrases are (for the Ranger Operators at least) a security measure. They're programmed with voice recognition software.
- For Great Justice: Flynn suggests to Dr. K that she change the morph call to "Ranger Justice Unleashed!".
- ISO-Standard Urban Groceries: At the end of the episode, when Flynn comes home to his father, complete with a baguette.
- Large Ham: This conversation between Flynn and Tenaya in battle:Tenaya: Red is the perfect one, Black is the brooding bad boy, Green is the clown, and Yellow... well, she's the girl. So what are you supposed to be?

- Reconstruction: This episode's Lampshade Hanging of two recurring elements of Power Rangers that are often mocked also reconstructs them. Why are there explosions behind the rangers after they've morphed? Residual energy runoff to clear the suit's bio-channels during the morph (the explosions are even used to attack several foot soldiers). Why do they scream their morph call? Vocal recognition safety feature.
- Reverse Polarity: A slight inversion; Flynn's abilities went haywire due to a build up of time dilation reversing the polarity of his powers. Played straight, however, in that he fixes the problem by putting his Engine Cell in upside down like a backwards battery, re-reversing the polarity.
- Bonus points to him for beating the crap out of some Grinders while explaining all this to Dr. K over the phone, making good use of the overpowered runoff explosion, and leaving Dr. K completely speechless.

- Stamp of Rejection: Flynn repeatedly gets a big red DISMISSED stamp put on his record on every job he gets fired from.
