- Back from the Dead: Diabolico returns!
- Batman Can Breathe in Space: Averted for the first time in Power Rangers history: Because it's necessary to the plot, space is shown to actually be a vacuum.
- Commuting on a Bus: Ryan stumbles upon Vypra and Loki out in the desert and stays close by to see what they're up to.
- Exact Time to Failure: The pods will open at exactly 12 noon... precisely as measured by the Rangers' clocks, which of course are all perfectly in sync.
- I Owe You My Life: Quite literally, too, as Vypra and Loki restore Diabolico to life. He says he will gladly make this up to them, and Vypra intends to sic him on Olympius.
- Not Quite Dead: Vypra and Loki survive the trap and emerge in a certain desert.
- Oh, Crap!: Loki is so stunned by Diabolico's return that it takes him a moment to realize how good this is for getting revenge against Olympius.
- Wham Shot: Diabolico crawling out of the coffin.
- Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Olympius gets Vypra and Loki to fall into his trap by acting excessively humble (to the point of kneeling) and talking about the importance of their ultimate goals over their rivalry. It catches them completely off guard.
