Tropes

  • Beam-O-War: Tori vs. Kira, except it's water against sound.
  • Big Damn Heroes: According to Cam, it was Sensei who saved him, Hunter, and Blake down in the Abyss of Evil.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The day is saved, but the Ninja Storm Rangers' powers are gone for good due to Lothor's extraction (at least until later team-ups, namely Once a Ranger and Legendary Battle.
  • The Bus Came Back: Zurgane, Blue Face, General Trayf, and the Wolfblades all appear as part of the villains' forces.
  • Delayed Reaction: Seeing Blake with the others, Kira realizes he's also a Power Ranger and that's why she recognized him.
  • Designated Girl Fight:
    • Yellow Dino Ranger Kira fights the brainwashed Blue Ninja Ranger Tori, with Ethan (Dino Blue) and Dustin (Ninja Yellow) facing off against each other. Later, when both teams are fighting the villains, Kira and Tori fight Elsa.
    • Averted in an earlier encounter, with Kira staring down Dustin and Ethan staring down Tori.
  • Evasive Fight-Thread Episode: The unmorphed fight between the Ninja and Dino Rangers is a little more even than their first, and the other Ninja Storm Rangers interrupt before they can morph.
  • Evil vs. Evil: After the villains plans are foiled by the Rangers, with all their forces defeated and Marah and Kapri revealing themselves to be fake defectors who rescued Sensei and all the captured students, Mesogog and Luthor turn on each other and have a brief fight. The two seem evenly matched for a majority, until Mesogog gets the upper hand and uses his telepathy to defeat Lothor and trap him in a canister.
  • Exact Words: Cam assures the Wind Rangers that they won't be sorry for activating the new power discs. They're returned to normal immediately afterwards.
  • Gilligan Cut: Blake gets one when they return to the Abyss of Evil to get their Ranger powers back.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Marah and Cassidy briefly pass by each other. Since both are played by Katrina Devine, they take a moment to comment on their resemblance to each other.
  • The Mole:
    • Hunter, Blake, and Cam fake being turned evil in order to get close enough to the Wind Rangers to return them to normal.
    • Also, Marah & Kapri were only pretending to re-ally with Lothor in order to rescue Sensei.
  • Properly Paranoid: Mesogog doesn't trust Lothor and fully intends to betray him first once he's no longer needed.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Lothor is left trapped in a canister by Mesogog.
  • Skewed Priorities: When Blake is in danger of falling to the bottom of the Abyss of evil.
Blake: I can't believe I'm missing my race tomorrow!
Hunter: Did you really said that?
  • Stealth Insult: Mesogog greets Lothor with "Your reputation precedes you." (consider the Continuity Nod from the premiere.)
  • Underestimating Badassery: Mesogog considered Lothor a fool, due to his overall demeanor, but their fight ends up being far tougher than he would've expected. He has to resort to a telepathy attack to put Lothor down.
  • You Just Had to Say It: Down in the Abyss of Evil, Hunter, Blake, and Cam quickly come upon the Samurai Amulet out in the open. Hunter questions it being unguarded, leading to Zurgane and company launching a surprise attack.
Blake: You had to say it, right?
