Part 17 Duel of Tears
We start right were we left off with the group shocked reactions of what Traitor Dash has said. They try to talk Traitor Dash out of it, but she truly believes that this is the only way. Applejack brings up the possibility that Discord won't make good on his promise, but Rancor appears stating that Entropy doesn’t like her name being used on promises that aren't kept. The group is completely surprised by the fact that Discord has a family. Rancor offers to keep everyone but Twilight busy, but Traitor Dash refuses believing that Discord could use that to not keep his end of the deal, so she decides to sit back and watch what happens.The battle beings with everyone attacking Traitor until she shows her first trick she has kept hidden from the others, red chains of treachery removing the others from the fight and removing the illusion that Apple Pie was under. Twilight tries to use her spells but Traitor knows what Twilight can do but the same cannot be said about Traitor. Ditzy escapes from her chains and Apple Pie makes herself known to Traitor's shock. Twilight is able to hide Apple Pie being the Element of Laughter, but can do nothing to stop Derpy from revealing herself from being the Element of Loyalty after she shows how she can escape Traitor's chains. Ditzy is able to fight Traitor while Twilight tries to figure out how to best deal with the battle. She sees that the best method is to take a page out of Discord's book and use spells that Traitor wouldn't expect her to use. This allows her to get an opening to cage Traitor, hoping that they can just talk it out.
Traitor Dash will have none of that and shows off an ability that she had hoped she would never use. Turning herself into a black, white and red pegasus that she decides to call Ender Dash. Twilight is stunned that Traitor Dash was keeping a power like this was being used for close to a 1000 years. Nothing Twilight can do seems to have any effect on her and the others are wondering if this is the end. Yet, Apple Pie sees a contradiction in with what's going on, Traitor Dash used her powers of treachery to keep her out of the battle, exactly what Twilight wants her to do, causing her to laugh. This wakes Twilight up to what she needs to do and tells Derpy to go help the others. She then uses Changelings Magic to turn into a pegasus mare, one she decides to call Half-Light Noon, and take the battle with Ender Dash into the air.
The battle between the pegasi is back and forth, nether gaining the upper hoof. Ender decides that she is going to end it with the Sonic Darkboom and only a desperate roll of the dice allows Twilight to survive the attack. Ender tries another Darkboom but an attack by Twilight stops her as the both fall to the ground the battle over.
The others, finally out of the chains of treachery arrive at the hole. Rarity knowing the usefulness of having the chains of treachery's power and believing that Traitor Dash has given up on life, gives into her desire and tries to take Traitor's Element of Chaos knowing that doing so will kill her. Applejack wonders if that is the kindest thing to do, Apple Pie doesn't understand what is going on, Spike just stands over Traitor Dash to prevent her from escaping, and Ditzy is horrified about this. Twilight makes a decision and ask Rarity "WHAT DO YOU DESIRE MORE?! POWER? AN EDGE IN OUR FIGHT WITH OUR FRIENDS? OR ONE OF OUR FRIENDS BACK-?!" Rarity replies that she wants her friend back. Twilight casts the memory spell on Traitor Dash and she takes the first steps towards reawaking. Dash is still worried about Sky Ocean and Cloudsdale and the others show they were never in danger. Dash could have turned against Discord at any point but refused to see it as a possible choice. They tell her that she must know decide what she will do next. They take Dash back to Sweet Rock Acres, knowing that she is both too tired to travel with them and that she needs time to make her decision. Minty Pie agrees to watch over her before the elements leave. Dash wakes up but Minty tells her to head back to sleep, saying she is happy to see her and singing a song from the lost 3rd age. We then see a dream where Dash must make her choice with help from the two spirits that are a part of her Firefly and G3 Rainbow Dash.
