After witnessing a mysterious Pokémon appear from her pendant, Liko and Sprigatito were rescued by a man and his Charizard. Upon arriving on the airship named the Brave Olivine, Liko meets his teammates in Mollie and Murdock, as she finds out that the man who saved her is named Friede. Liko tried to get answers as to what was going on, but the group who were chasing her, called the Explorers, caught up to them. However, Liko was able to avoid capture but Sprigatito wasn't as it got captured by the Explorers.

This episode contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Berserk Button: Amethio doesn't take too kindly to Friede using Captain Pikachu in their battle instead of Charizard, finding the use of the Electric Mouse to be an insult.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Liko wonders if she is the main character in this story when she realize that the Explorers are after her.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: In a distinct difference from Team Rocket (who would happily steal any Pokémon in addition to Pikachu), Amethio draws the line at using Sprigatito as leverage.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • The Rising Volt Tacklers' flag flies away during the initial assault on the Brave Olivine. Where it ends up will become crucial in the next episode.
    • Murdock asks Ludlow to watch after "You know who", tells Friede to be careful due to there being "children" (as in plural) onboard, and a Quaxly is seen wandering around in a panic near a locked door on the ship. Almost as if there's someone else onboard the RVT are watching over...
  • Cliffhanger: Sprigatito is blown away by the wind and winds up in Amethio's clutches.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Mollie scolds Friede for keeping Liko out of the loop, as he took her to the Brave Olivine without telling her what was going on. To be fair, Friede didn't have the chance to tell Liko anything because the Explorers were chasing her and getting her to safety was more important at the moment.
  • Noble Demon: Despite wanting to capture Liko and take her pendant, Amethio gives Liko a willing chance to come with him and refuses to use her Pokémon as a bargaining chip.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Part of the reason Liko is initially distrustful of the Rising Volt Tacklers is because Friede doesn't bother explaining anything to her about who he is or why he's trying to protect her. She seems a bit more open when she sees that the Pokémon they care for are very happy, but even her inability to ask what's going on causes problems when the situation requires Friede to keep on the move.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Liko manages to have Sprigatito unleash a powerful Leafage, which catches even the Explorers off guard.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Amethio grossly underestimates how powerful Captain Pikachu is, as the mouse is able to dance circles around Ceruledge and trade with it blow-for-blow.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Liko tries to surrender to the Explorers so no one would get hurt, and in response, Sprigatito jumps out of her arms and chews her out for giving up so easily.
