Ash and Goh find a Snorlax in Galar's Wild Area. But right as Scorbunny catches up to him, the mysterious Dynamax phenomenon takes hold of the heavy sleeper, turning it into a giant island blocking the railway. Ash, Goh, Pikachu, and Scorbunny have to work together to neutralize the gigantic threat.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- All for Nothing: Subverted. When Scorbunny finally meets with Goh so they can become partners, Goh immediately turns it down due to Goh's obsession to have Mew be his partner and Scorbunny becomes distraught that he just went through this adventure for nothing. However, the battle with the Gigantamax Snorlax makes Goh change his mind.
- Epic Fail: Goh one-ups Lillie in this aspect when the Poké Ball he throws to catch Scorbunny completely misses.
- Fire-Forged Friends: It's only after battling Gigantamax Snorlax that Goh finally accepts Scorbunny as his partner.

Fridge Logic: Ash is just as excited to see the Snorlax as Goh is because of its size and thinking it's a Dynamax Pokemon. Ash has come across multiple Snorlax in the past and has one of his own. He should've been the one to point out to Goh that it's just a regular sized Snorlax. - Heroic Second Wind: Scorbunny is worn out and using a walking stick by the time it catches up with Goh. When it notices Goh and Ash examining Snorlax, it is immediately re-energized.
- Humiliation Conga: Scorbunny has to go through a lot just to reunite with Goh and Ash.
- Kaiju: The Dynamax phenomenon empowers any Pokémon to grow gigantic. And this is particularly jarring with Snorlax, which becomes pretty much its own island, blocking the train tracks.
- Oh, Crap!: Pikachu and Ash see the Snorlax beginning to Dynamax. Their reaction is a very understandable one - they run away as fast as their legs can carry them. In turn, they're followed by Goh and Scorbunny.
- Refusal of the Call: Goh initially is still reluctant to accept Scorbunny, still set on having Mew as his first, and only, partner. It takes a Gigantamax Snorlax to knock some sense into him.
- Shout-Out: On the train, a Bunnelby is seen eating carrots, much like a very famous cartoon rabbit.
