With the holidays about to begin, everyone at the Pokémon School are about to go their separate ways. Ash, in particular, is heading back to Pallet Town in order to take his next step in becoming a Pokémon Master by traveling all over the world.


  • Babies Ever After: The final shot of the episode reveals that Kukui and Burnet are expecting a baby.
  • Book Ends: The shot of Ash and Pikachu leaving the Alola region is very similar to the one leaving for the Alola region in the first episode of the season, Alola to New Adventures!
    • In the Korean version of the episode, the first theme song used for the season, ALOLA! plays during the ending montage.
  • But Now I Must Go:
    • Team Rocket returns to Kanto as they leave Mimikyu and Mareanie with Stufful and Bewear.
    • Lillie and her family leave Alola to look for her long lost father.
    • Ash leaves Alola to resume his journey as he says goodbye to his friends and Pokémon he caught their.
    • Sophocles heads for Hoenn with Molayne during his vacation.
    • Lana leaves with her dad in order to search for Manaphy.
    • Mallow's Shaymin obtains its Sky Forme when Ulu brings in Gracidea flowers, thus saying goodbye.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Jigglypuff got a ride back to Kanto too — it's sleeping under one of the seats on the plane.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: Ash, Pikachu, and Nebby have one last adventure in Ultra Space and find a UB that isn't shown.
  • Tears of Joy: Ash sheds them when he and Pikachu see the Ultra Guardians as they are seeing him off.
  • The Unreveal: Ash, Pikachu and Nebby took a journey through Ultra Space and encountered an Ultra Beast. He claims it's one he's never seen before, but as Bulbapedia points out, all Ultra Beasts had debuted at the time.
  • Villainous BSoD: Jessie's Mimikyu loses it's will the fight the moment it sees a reflection of its actual face.
