- Because You Were Nice to Me: After seeing Rowlet attempts to protect it from Team Rocket and that Ash understood what it wanted, Meltan decided to go with them
- Breaking Old Trends: Meltan is the first Steel-type capture for Ash, and also the first Mythical Pokemon to be caught by a main character.
- Buffy Speak: Team Rocket refer to Meltan as "laser-faced metalheads".
- Go Through Me: Rowlet gets roughed up bad protecting Meltan from Team Rocket.
- I Choose to Stay: The Meltan that Rowlet has been taking care of decided to stay with it and join Ash's team.
- Smart Ball: Meowth is oddly competent here, dodging all of Rowlet's attacks and supplying a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown as it protected Meltan. Meowth even lampshades that he must be getting served a moment of luck....until he's left to deal with an angry Meltan's Flash Cannon.
