- The Bus Came Back: Team Rocket trio comes back to Unova after their loss in the end of the previous season, now alone. Giovanni with Dr. Zager left in Kanto. During their absense they've built a new hot-air balloon and caught Frillish and Amoongus.
- Reset Button: Team Rocket were brought back to their basics: comical role (slightly more serious than before Best Wishes!), plans on capturing Ash's Pikachu, transportation with Meowth balloon, motto from first season, and blasting off.
