The gang finally arrives in Manehatten City and reunite with Applejack and Rarity. But they discover that the Gym Leader, Tidal Wave, is busy investigating a Pokémon trafficking ring. Can Flash and his friends help him bring down this trafficking ring and its leader Dreadbeard?
- Call-Back: The battle tournament is once again referenced, with Applejack remembering Flash and his friends were planning to go to Manehatten City after it, and Dreadbeard recognizing Flash from it.
- Destination Defenestration: Dreadbeard threw his goon Moldy through a window after realizing that the kid he brought to their base to sucker out of a rare Pokémon is Flash Sentry, and he is working with Tidal Wave against them. Moldy climbs back up through the window shortly afterwards.
- Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Moldy trying to scam Astro from Flash leads to Flash realizing he works for Dreadbeard and tricking him into setting up a meeting for him, and helping Tidal Wave bring him down.
- Too Dumb to Live: Moldy doesn't recognize Flash Sentry, despite him having competed in two tournaments previously and his own boss Dreadbeard quickly realizing who he is, and tries to scam him out of his rare shiny Pokémon. This leads to Flash figuring out he is with the trafficking ring and eventually getting them all arrested.
- Understatement: When Applejack says she was surprised that she and Rarity managed to beat Flash and the others to Manehatten City, thinking they would be long gone by the time they got there, Flash just says they got a little side-tracked... a lot.
