Continuing their journey to Manehatten City, the group nears Seaward Shoals where they plan to take a boat to get to Manehattan. While passing through a forest though, they are attacked by very terrirotial Trevenant. Flash ends up injured and seperated from the others during the attack. Now, he must make his way to port and catch the boat before it leaves with only Riptide, Prongs, and Viper for protection.
- Apathetic Citizens: When Twilight and Doc try to get help for Flash while in town, explaning how they were attacked, the woman they talk to doesn't seem to care very much, saying it was their own fault for traveling through the forest, and barely cares when told they didn't see a warning sign, simply saying maybe it fell over or was destroyed. Astro growls at this insensitvity. The most anyone does to help is Captain Algae agreeing to wait an extra hour for Flash to arrive before needing to depart.
- Bamboo Technology: When Flash is injuried and has trouble walking, and Prongs can't carry him himself, Riptide, Prongs, and Viper all gather together some vines and branches and after putting them together have Riptide freeze them in place with Ice Punch, crafting a pair of crutches for Flash.
- Human Shield: One of the Trevenant grabs Flash and tries to use him as a shield against his Pokémon. Riptide stops an Ice Punch just inches away from hitting Flash's face, but quickly reaches past him and grabs the Trevenant by its arm, holding it still for Viper to hit with a Flamethrower from behind so it drops Flash.
- Took a Level in Badass: All of Flash's Equestrian Starters reach their final evolutions of Stagrowth, Vipeacon, and Reptidal. This not only lets them learn Horn Leach, Pyro Coil, and Aqua Break, but they are able to sucessfully fight off an army of Trevenant, and Prongs, who was previously unable to carry Flash, is now able to carry him the rest of the way with no issue.
- Undying Loyalty: Flash's three starter Pokémon fight against an army of Trevenant to defend him, and when he continues to encourage them they all evolve into their final evolutions at the same time to save him.
- Wham Episode: All three of Flash's Equestrian Starters evolve into their final evolutions at the same time!
