The three heralds of Alicormony take the group to the Altar of Summons in Mount Tartarus to stop Team Shadow once and for all before they can achieve their evil plan.
- Blade Lock: Shine and Queensect do this by locking their horns.
- Call-Back: The soundwave generators that Team Shadow used in the Grand Desert are upgraded and used once again, forcing the group to recall their Pokémon to keep them from harm.
- Do Not Adjust Your Set: Sombra broadcasts a signal to all networks in the Equestria Region, outing himself as the founder and leader of Team Shadow and revealing his plan to use the Crystal Heart to summon the Legendaries from another dimension. He also plans to broadcast his and Flash's battle, which will provide the energy to fully repair the Crystal Heart.
- Powered Armor: Sombra's armor is meant to harness the Infinity Energy Team Shadow has collected and transfer it into the Crystal Heart to repair it without causing any harm to himself.
- The Reveal: It is confirmed that Team Shadow provided Archie with the magic armor that kept him alive. It turns out it was just a prototype, and they used the data from it to complete Sombra's armor.
- Rhetorical Question Blunder: During Sombra's Motive Rant on how he plans to rule Equestria, basically eliminating free will, declaring everyone will need to run any ideas they have for innovation by him first, Spike sarcastically asks if people will need to ask what color shirt they're allowed to wear too. Sombra chuckles and answers "Maybe", because "absolute security requires absolute control from a single person".
- Sadistic Choice: Sombra gives one to Flash. He can either agree to his terms and battle his Tyrandark with his entire team and attempt to defeat him before the Crystal Heart is repaired by the Infinity Energy their battle produces, or if he refuses to battle then Team Shadow will kill his friends and him before packing up and leave before Shining Armor and the others can arrive. Flash reluctantly decides to go with the first choice and battle.
- The Worf Effect: Even the Legendaries can't withstand the soundwave generators Team Shadow uses.
