Recap / Parks and Recreation - S01 E04

Go To

The Parks Department receives a beautiful gift basket with wine and cheese, but Leslie informs her workers that they cannot accept it because it is valued over $25.

The team, including Ann, visit the website that April created for the Lot 48 project. Leslie is annoyed by Mark's "boys' club" — Mark and the other city planners drink beer in the courtyard on Tuesday evenings to unwind — because she thinks they're doing business. She vows to break the "glass ceiling", and she and Ann join the men, who are just socializing.

After the beers run out, Leslie is having so much fun she breaks open the gift basket. Meanwhile, April is sitting in the office, bored, waiting for her sister to pick her up.

Next morning, Leslie regrets opening the gift basket. She admits to her workers what she did. She also confesses to Ron, who doesn't think it's a big deal. Then Leslie learns that while April was waiting for her sister, she drank some of the wine and posted a video of herself doing so on the pit's website.

Now Leslie has to testify before the disciplinary committee because April is only 19. Leslie confesses to everything, taking the blame for April's behavior. Ron, who is required to attend the hearing, gets fed up with the numerous questions and leaves, taking Leslie with him. Her only punishment is a letter in her file.

Leslie admits to Ann she did what she did because of Mark. When she later meets up with Mark, he tells her, "Welcome to the club."

Meanwhile, Ann is about to work a double shift and asks Andy to clean up a bit, but he dismisses the idea. After she leaves, however, he does a major cleanup of the house (and himself) to surprise her.
