While the office is closed for the night, Angus is faking a CGI interview to ridicule Paperinik. While Donald is thinking of a way to get even, Evronian soldiers come to kidnap the journalist. Despite Paperinik's help, he is shot by an Evron-gun, forcing the hero to a trip to Venus to find a cure. Xadhoom tags along, while on Earth, Lyla and a new journalist, Mike Morrighan, try to find Angus...
Tropes Present In This Issue:
- Bait-and-Switch: The first page make us believe that the Evronians discovered Paperinik's Secret Identity and are searching for him in his house, while instead they are looking for Angus.
- Big Damn Heroes: Xadhoom arrives to save Paperinik and Angus. unlike before, played straight.
- Captured Super-Entity: The Evronians put Xadhoom in a special cage to contain her energy. Fails completely.
- Didn't Think This Through: Paperinik is more than ready to go to Venus... until One kindly reminds him there are more than one hundred and fifty ''million'' km between it and Earth and that he has no idea of how to get there.
- Exact Words: Zoster promised to cure Angus. He never said anything about letting them go.
- Which is the cue for Xadhoom to make use of hers Exact Words. They wanted her energy? BOOM!
- Foreshadowing: The mask of Angus's Maori tribe will play a important role in a future issue.
- The news about the mysterious hacker.
- HeroicBSOD: Xadhoom has one when he realizes one of the Coolflames they are fighting is a Xerbian.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Xadhoom allows herself to get captured in exchange of a cure for Angus. Subverted; after all, if they wanted to let her in, in exchange for that, well...
- Hidden in Plain Sight: The top of the Ducklair tower is actually a spaceship.
- Jerkass Has a Point: In his fake interview Angus states that Paperinik was a nobody that everybody mocked and underestimated before putting on his costume. As everybody that have read the first story of Paperinik can attest to, it's exactly the case.
- Invisibility Cloak: The Evron cruiser has one.
- Tractor Beam: As well as this.
- Ironic Echo: Done extremely quickly.Paperinik:(to a group of Evronians)"Stay back. We don't want to hurt you!"Xadhoom:"Speak for yourself!"Evronian:"Attack!"Xadhoom:"I couldn't ask for more!"Paperinik:"Speak for yourself!"
- Mercy Kill: Possibly? Xadhoom said that being a Coolflame is a Fate Worse than Death and... kills a group of them? The panel isn't clear.
- Pre-Mortem One-Liner: "Wave hello with your hands, scumbags!"
- Right Hand Vs Left Hand: Zondag and Zoster clearly don't get along, but work together due to being assigned to different parts of the expedition. Zondag is the military commander, Zoster is the head scientist.
- They Call Me MISTER Tibbs!: When Pk first appears, Angus and the Evronians shout "Paperinik!". He corrects them saying that his friends call him Pk, but they must refer to him as "Mr." Paperinik... and that goes for Angus, too.
- To Absent Friends: Okay, Xadhoom isn't dead, but Paperinik and One make a toast in her honor, making for the spirit of the trope, even if not the letter..
- Took a Level in Dumbass: Angus is reduced to a giggling idiot thanks to the Evrongun.
- Two Lines, No Waiting: While our heroes are in space, there is a subplot of Lyla and Morrighan trying to find Angus.
- You Have Failed Me: Zondag kills the soldiers that failed to capture Angus.
- Zerg Rush: Zondag's strategy against the heroes."I want every single soldier on the middle bridge!"
