Happy Halloween!
It's Halloween in Adventure Bay, and a mysterious kid in a giant spider costume is taking all the treats from the trick-or-treaters.

Tropes:

  • Accidental Art: While spraying orange marshmallow cream onto Mr. Porter’s pumpkin pie with his cannon, Marshall accidentally shoots marshmallow in between two trees. He offers to clean it up, but Mayor Goodway actually likes how it looks like a giant orange spider web.
  • Air Quotes: Mayor Humdinger does these while inside his giant spider robot after Alex compliments his costume.
Mayor Humdinger: Yeah, it’s a cool "costume".
  • Foreshadowing: At the beginning of the episode when Marshall makes his marshmallow mess, Mayor Goodway comments that it looks like the web of a giant spider. Mayor Humdinger then uses a giant robotic spider to steal Halloween candy and he later gets trapped in the sticky web.
  • Halloween Episode: The Pups are excited to go trick-or-treating and then attend Mayor Goodway’s Halloween party. However, Mayor Humdinger arrives and tries to ruin the holiday for everyone.
  • Halloween Trickery: Mayor Humdinger doesn’t seem to understand that it’s “trick or treat” and does “trick and trick” instead by stealing entire bowls of candy.
  • The Last Straw: Humdinger is about to be saved by the Paw Patrol when he sees one more piece of candy he just has to have. He sucks it up into his robot spider and it ends up not being able to hold any more; causing candy to explode everywhere.
  • Parrot Expo What:
    Mayor Humdinger: Trick-or-what-ing?
  • Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure: Mayor Humdinger has somehow never heard of trick-or-treating before.
  • Rain of Something Unusual: Humdinger’s robot spider exploding causes candy to rain from the sky.
Marshall: This is my kind of rain!
  • Too Old to Trick-or-Treat: Mayor Humdinger is excited by the idea of free candy and getting to trick people, but Mayor Goodway tells him that trick-or-treating is only for children - no grown-ups allowed.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Skye and Rubble aren’t thrilled about being called to help with the mission due to their fears of birds and spiders respectively. Skye has to use her scarecrow costume to scare off the eagle, and Rubble has to use his crane to unstick the giant spider from a web.
Rubble: A giant spider? Those are the worst kind!
