"Touch Me I’m Going to Scream, Part 1" is the first episode of Season 6 of One Tree Hill and originally aired September 1st, 2008. The episode was written by Mark Schwahn and directed by Stuart Gillard.

Lucas heads to Las Vegas with the girl of his dreams. Nathan's comeback faces a setback as he deals with Deb's new relationship, and Dan wakes up to find his life in more danger than he realised. Meanwhile, Mouth receives an opportunity for a fresh start, whilst Brooke and Victoria's feud over Clothes Over Bro's escalates.

Contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Bait-and-Switch: The episode opens on Lucas and Brooke married and living in New York; it quickly becomes apparent that it's just a dream sequence when Lucas walks through the revolving door of a hotel and ends up in his home in Tree Hill.
  • Big Damn Kiss: Lucas and Peyton's kiss at the airport after their reunion.
  • Big Damn Reunion: Lucas and Peyton at the beginning of the episode.
  • But Now I Must Go: Mouth leaves Tree Hill for an on-air position in Omaha.
  • Call-Back:
    • When Lucas and Peyton send their respective "Don’t worry, I’m fine" text messages, Peyton describes it as her "Responsible 'I have not been attacked by Pyscho Derek' text message" in reference to the Season 4 storyline.
    • Lucas and Peyton wind up in the exact same hotel room where he originally proposed to her. Once again, he’s unable to actually propose to Peyton because she cuts him off, but this time it’s because Peyton immediately blurts out "Yes" when he tries to formally propose.
  • The Cameo: Michaela McManus appears as Lindsey in the opening dream sequence, but doesn’t make any other appearance during the episode.
  • Dream Intro: The episode opens on a dream sequence depicting Lucas’ life married to each of his major love interests: Brooke, Peyton and Lindsey.
  • Elvis Impersonator: Lucas and Peyton come across one when they go to a wedding chapel to get married; Elvis is the minister.
  • Happy Ending Override: With the exception of Dan being held hostage by Nanny Carrie, the episode ends on a largely positive note, until Brooke is shown being attacked in her store.
  • Honor Before Reason: Millicent decides to stay in Tree Hill to help Brooke rather than go with Mouth to Omaha.
  • My Own Private "I Do": Lucas and Peyton head to Las Vegas with the goal of eloping to make up for losing the last three years. Ultimately averted, because they’d both rather have their loved ones present.
  • Non-Indicative Title: Despite the name of the episode, it isn't the first part of a multi-part episode.
  • Previously on…: Recapping the previous season; pointedly, it doesn’t end on Lucas’ phone call, but Peyton’s admission that she dreams about the night Lucas proposed to her in L.A. and that she always says “Yes” in the dream.
  • Promotion to Opening Titles: Lisa Goldstein is bumped up to series regular.
  • The Reveal:
    • Lucas called Peyton in the previous season’s cliffhanger.
    • Nanny Carrie was the person who ran Dan over in the hospital parking lot, and it wasn’t an accident.
  • Shipper on Deck: Nathan, Haley & Brooke all respond thrilled upon finding out that Lucas & Peyton have gotten back together.
  • Something Only They Would Say: Brooke and Haley realise Lucas and Peyton are back together when they both receive "Don’t worry, I’m fine" text messages from their respective best friend within seconds of one another.
  • Spoiler Opening: The Previously on… recap ends on Peyton's admission that she always says "Yes" whenever she dreams about the night Lucas proposed to her in L.A. rather than the actual cliffhanger proposal, making it fairly obvious who he was on the phone to.
  • Viva Las Vegas!: Lucas and Peyton head to Vegas with the intent of eloping.
  • Wham Shot:
    • Dan coming to after being hit by the car, and realising that he’s not in hospital - Nanny Carrie is holding him somewhere.
    • Brooke being brutally attacked in her store.
