Recap / One Hundred And One Dalmatian Street S 1 E 9 All Fired Up

Go To

Doug takes Dolly to the fire station on "Take Your Kid to Work Day," but she finds it underwhelming.

This episode features examples of:

  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: When Dolly's accidental-troublemaking montage starts, a baffled Doug points out the 80s soundtrack.
  • Chekhov's Classroom: The lecture about multi-incident rescues and the list of equipment a bored Dolly reads through both come into play when one of these rescues actually happens later in the episode.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: The firefighters Doug works with. While they can initially come across as rather dull and unimpressive, when the alarm sounds they are straight to action and show themselves to be highly competent at what they do.
  • A Day in the Limelight: As the episode focuses on Dolly following Doug to the fire station, he naturally has a significant role.
  • Foreshadowing: As he retires to the treehouse, Dylan sarcastically tells the other puppies not to set the house on fire. He accidentally ends up doing the same to the house next door shortly afterwards.
  • Plot Allergy: Dylan's cat allergy causes him to accidentally set off a fire that Doug and Dolly have to respond to.
  • Tempting Fate: When Dolly gets picked to go to the fire station with Doug, she says it's "gonna be the most action-packed day of [her] life." She's soon proven wrong.
